Americans finally discover why Africans are not dying in thousands from COVID-19

Pastor Chris revealed the closure date of coronavirus.

Pastor Chris, who addressed his congregation across the globe via a live broadcast on Sunday, also said God had revealed to him earlier in the year that the world would experience a ‘compulsory holiday’, hence his earlier call to church members to undertake a 50-day fast in January.

The Redeemed Church, like many others across the nation, has stopped physical services, and resorted to online services in line with the directives of many governments to halt mass gathering.

The directives were given as a means of curbing the coronavirus which has so far infected about 26 persons in Nigeria and killed thousands across the globe.

“I have heard one prophet say the coronavirus will soon die. And I said ‘amen’. You know prophets are greater than pastors. I heard another prophet say the world will experience rain for seven days and (it) will wash the plague away. I said ‘amen’. But I am speaking with you my children. The coronavirus will certainly subside after God has removed the plague but to say it will die, let me speak in local parlance, ‘na lie’ (it is a lie),” the pastor said.He said the outbreak was God’s way of calling the attention of the whole world to godly living, irrespective of class or social standing and to show that He is still in control of human affairs.

He said this is because the ‘compulsory holiday’ now affected both the low and high class citizens as most nations across the world have now locked down their communities and closed their borders.

He also disagreed with those that argue that Satan was the source of all evil and not God. He reminded them of the story of Job in the Bible.

“Even Satan could not touch Job with any ailment or tragedy until God gave him express permission. The coronavirus plague is God’s way of telling the world, He is still in control. It will certainly subside and go away ‘for a while’ and the world will recover,” he said.

Speaking copiously from Psalm 91, 121, Isaiah 25 and a few other scriptures, Mr Adeboye urged Christians not to fret but to depend on God for protection in this trying time.

He said for those, who put their trust in God for their protection and provision, no plague is permitted to come near them.“He that dwells in the secret place of the almighty must abide under the shadow of the almighty. The conditions is for you to ‘dwell’ and ‘abide’ so you can enjoy the scriptural blessings God.

COVID-19: Lockdown now or get ready for mass burial - UPDN/CCAG

Haven’t observed developments around the world and how vulnerable Ghana’s Health system works, United Press for Development Network (UPDN) and Citizens for Change and Accountable Governance (CCAG) is by this Press Statement urging government to go for a total lockdown.

The spate at which developed countries with well-equipped facilities have been brought to their knees begging for support and Gods intervention, it is just prudent that we lockdown as a matter of urgency.

We have listened to the World Health Organization (WHO), Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Pharmaceutical Council, Civil Society Organizations, Non-governmental Organizations, Security Experts, Scientists, Researchers, Medical Practitioners, Nurses and Doctors and we are convinced Ghana and the entire continent (Africa) if not the world should lockdown immediately before the worse happen in our quest to win the battle against COVID-19.

This is a major world emergency health war and human existence crises that need tough and rapid measures to nip in bud.

UPDN/CCAG reckons the efforts by President Akufo-Addo to contain and avoid both vertical and horizontal spread of the virus in the country but the risk confronting us as a people is so high that, if we wait one more week before the shutdown, Ghana should be ready for mass burial of it citizens.

According to the Ghana Statistical Service’s 2016 Population and Housing Census, Ghana has a population of 27,752,983 (approximately 28million) and currently we (Ghana) have one doctor to essentially 4,000 population ratio, with very divesting and porous health system coupled with insanity environment and no bed syndrome.

As COVID-19 spikes on daily bases in Ghana and considering the contact tracing announced by the Ghana Health Service totaling some 575 almost 600 in 10days and non-contact tracing, it is important to lockdown to avoid any further escalations.

We admonish Finance Minister and Government to provide the financial backings for the necessary COVID-19 measures to be taking immediately by stakeholders even if we have to borrow.

UPDN urges media persons not to endanger their lives in the quest for news and COVID-19 reportage, also we request media owners to acquire some protective materials such as gloves, bodysuit and full face mask for use by their field reporters.

Unbelieveable;See what Coronavirus does to those with blood type A.

People with blood type A may be more vulnerable to infection by the new coronavirus , while those with type O seem more resistant, according to a preliminary study of patients in China who contracted the disease known as Covid-19.
Medical researchers in China took blood group patterns of more than 2,000 patients infected with the virus in Wuhan and Shenzhen and compared them to local healthy populations. They found that blood type A patients showed a higher rate of infection and they tended to develop more severe symptoms.

While the researchers said the study was preliminary and more work was needed, they did urge governments and medical facilities to consider blood type differences when planning mitigation measures or treating patients with the virus, known as Sars-CoV-2.

“People of blood group A might need particularly strengthened personal protection to reduce the chance of infection,” wrote the researchers led by Wang Xinghuan with the Centre for Evidence-Based and Translational Medicine at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University.

“Sars-CoV-2-infected patients with blood group A might need to receive more vigilant surveillance and aggressive treatment,” Wang wrote.

In contrast, “blood group O had a significantly lower risk for the infectious disease compared with non-O blood groups”, according to a paper they published on Medrxiv.org on March 11.

Of 206 patients who had died from Covid-19 in Wuhan, 85 had type A blood, which was 63 per cent more than the 52 with type O. The pattern existed across different age and gender groups.

“It might be helpful to introduce ABO blood typing in both patients and medical personnel as a routine part of the management of Sars-CoV-2 and other coronavirus infections, to help define the management options and assess risk exposure levels of people,” Wang wrote in the paper.

The study was conducted by scientists and doctors from cities across China including Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai and Shenzhen. It has not been peer reviewed, and the authors cautioned that there could be risks involved in using the study to guide current clinical practice.

Gao Yingdai, a researcher with the State Key Laboratory of Experimental Haematology in Tianjin who was not involved in the study, said it could be improved with a larger sample size. Though 2,000 was not small, it is dwarfed by the total number of patients infected by the coronavirus.

Another limitation of the study was that it did not provide a clear explanation about the phenomenon, such as the molecular interaction between the virus and different types of red blood cells, Gao said.

Blood types are determined by a so-called antigen, a material on the surface of red blood cells that can trigger an immune response. Austrian biologist Karl Landsteiner discovered the main blood groups in 1901, naming them type A, B, AB and O. The discovery allowed for safe blood transfusions by matching blood types in patients.

Blood types vary in a population. In the United States, about 44 per cent of the population is type O, while about 41 per cent is type A. In Wuhan, which has a population of about 11 million, type O is 32 per cent, while A is 34 per cent among healthy people. Among Covid-19 patients, it was about 38 and 25 per cent.

Scientists are still unsure how different blood groups evolved, though one theory is that they are a genetic memory of plagues. Others argue that environmental factors such as altitude, temperature or humidity might have played a role to favour the increase of certain blood type populations.

Blood type difference has been observed in other infectious diseases including Norwalk virus, hepatitis B and severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars), according to previous studies.

Gao at the Tianjin lab said the new study “may be helpful to medical professionals, but ordinary citizens should not take the statistics too seriously”. “If you are type A, there is no need to panic. It does not mean you will be infected 100 per cent,” she said.

“If you are type O, it does not mean you are absolutely safe, either. You still need to wash your hands and follow the guidelines issued by authorities.”
